In the current study, the finite element simulation of superplastic blow forming of combustion chamber outer case has been carried out. The flow stress equation obtained from the free bulging test is employed for the simulation and 3 types of mould configuration are considered in order to reduce not only thinning effect but also forming time. Each mould configuration basically consists of main body part, extending part, entrance angle, fillet radius, and so on. The simulation results using MSC MARC showed a different mould filling mode according to each mould configuration at the same forming time. Moreover the length of extending part affected considerably on the filling mode and the thickness distribution while the effect of fillet radius and entrance angle is not that much. However, it is expected that the predicted forming time might be different from the real situation because an assumed optimal strain rate was employed in the simulation.
