Using the method of combination with theory and practice, the diffusing behavior of interface elements on ultrafine-grain superplastic diffusion bonding between TC4 alloy and 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel were investigated in this paper. The research results can provide foundation for promoting diffusion theory development and practical application. The research results show that: (1) Because the elements of matrix materials are precessing diffusion and transmition during the superplastic diffusion bonding between TC4 alloy and 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel, the solid solution and intermetallic compounds diffusion layers are formed in the joint interface. The thickness of layers on the properties of bonding joint has strongly effect. So the intermetallic compounds diffusion layers must be controlled less than 6 µm. (2) In allusion to diffusion bonding process of dissimilar materials, the diffusing model of the bonding interface elements is established. The experimental results show that the model can preferably reflect the distribution rule of interface elements. And the model has the applicable value for research of superplastic diffusion bonding theory.
